Review by Annie Riordan
It's the 1800s and the wild west town of Deliverance is
anything but wild. Reporter Newton Pyles was hoping for a
story about rootin' tootin' gun-slingin' cowboys, but
there's just nothin' going on here...that is, until Billy
The Kid arrives in town and takes all of the children
hostage. Billy, it turns out, is a vampire, and he's dead
set (no pun intended) on raising an army and making himself
a kingdom right there in Deliverance! But when half vampire
butt kicker Rayne gets wind of his evil plot, she rides into
town and raises an army of her own, determined to stop Billy
and return the wild west to peace.
Yeah, this is a Uwe Boll flick. Most of you will go no
further once you see his name on the DVD box. But really -
honestly and truly? - this isn't all that bad. It's even
kinda fun! Yes, it's low budget, silly, uses language,
costumes and other assorted items that did not exist back in
the 1800s and the script is by-the-book predictable and
oftentimes silly, but sometimes you just wanna watch a hot
babe kick some ass. Nastassia Malthe delivers on that front:
she's smokingly sexy and she makes sure you notice. Billy
the Kid is played by the sneeringly evil Zack Ward, so fans
of A Christmas Story, this is your chance to see how the
ruthless bully Scut Farkus turned out when he grew up and
left the coonskin cap behind! |

On level with
Tremors 4: The Legend Begins, BloodRayne 2 is a harmless
western horror flick which should be viewed by those just
looking for some dumb fun. It's action packed, booby trapped
and even slightly sick, and it held my attention from
beginning to end. I've seen much, much, MUCH worse films,
kids. |
