A thousand years since they left, Narnia is now in ruins. It’s lands overthrown by the Telmarine Kingdom and it’s people forced into hiding and now thought to be only legend. .Prince Caspian, on the run, now that his uncle’s wife has given birth to a son and heir, is now a threat to the throne. Peter, Edmund, Susan and Lucy are called back by Susan’s old horn, when Caspian blows it. Now back they must find Caspain, defeat the Telmarine and return Narnia’s lands to the rightful people.

When a movie has good source material there is a fair chance it will be a good movie. All the director has to do is not muck it up. That is a big reason movies like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings did so well and others did not. The books were good and caught people’s imagination.
This movie is fantastically done. Probably a better overall movie than the first. Story is only a bit confusing, but easy to catch up with. The action is top notch and the effects are on point.

The thing that plagues movies where a kid or kids begin as nobodies and end up as heroes is the directors/writers use of having them be a bunch of whiny cowards only to end up brave and noble to show their change. The problem is that whininess is horrible and is a total buzzkill. That was the problem with the first in the Narnia series, but not here. All the kids jump back into their roles and the story quickly moves along making this an amazingly enjoyable movie.

This movie is actually quite dark. Yes, it still has humor and tons of talking animals and still has a creamy yummy center, but you get a lot of raw anger and a fair amount of on screen killings. The character of Edmund is turning into quite the badass of this group. He is just a no nonsense of a sword master. I now eagerly await to see him in the next episode.
